Traffic grows but car use remains limited, TTF finds
The latest Local Authority Transport and Travel report from ITS (UK) partners the Transport Technology Forum suggests traffic is slowly getting back to pre-crisis levels but that car travel is growing less than other vehicle types.
Data gathered from a number of local authorities across England also indicates there has still been no return to a full morning traffic peak.
Cycling statistics continue to suggest a weekday decline since the beginning of June but weekend levels are increasing.
The report also highlights how authorities are changing enforcement to reinforce sustainable mobility initiatives, supporting more take-up and surveying residents to ensure public support, plus taking an academic route to improved air quality.
