StarTraq wins Qatar enforcement processing contract
ITS (UK) member StarTraq, along with Key Technical International (KTC International) have been awarded a contract by the Ministry of Interior in Qatar to provide its browser-based traffic enforcement solution, DOME, to consolidate the review of traffic camera evidence in one solution.
For many years, the processing centre in Doha has been using multiple back-office software solutions to process traffic offences, one for each different camera manufacturer, making automation and global reporting complex and time-consuming.
The DOME software is an important investment as it will integrate with all leading speed camera manufacturers to offer one software suite to review all the evidence regardless of the source. The software, which will be delivered in Arabic, will use smart ‘Licence Plate Recognition’ technology combined with customisable workflow rules to automatically verify evidence packs, where possible, without the need for human review.
The project is due to go live in by the summer of 2021, and the efficiencies achieved through the implementation of the DOME will enable the authorities to realise much better management information and automation.
