SRL introduces detection and CCTV products
ITS (UK) member SRL is offering new traffic light detection technology and CCTV products, designed to minimise traffic congestion and improve surveillance and site security.
It says it’s further developed the technology within its traffic light portfolio to include the new Adaptive Detection System (ADS) detector to support local authorities and utility companies as they strive to reduce the level of congestion around their roadworks and cities.
SRL’s ADS technology may be used in conjunction with its new Eurolight Master temporary and portable traffic lights and offers four-way control with advanced radar detection. The ADS detector monitors traffic flow and uses an algorithm to adjust the length of each cycle in response to volumes recorded throughout the day, including the accommodation of HGV start lag.
The company says extensive trials of the solution indicate that the ADS can give an additional 50% efficiency by upgrading standard traffic light detectors, quickly clearing each queue on every cycle following simple and swift deployment, reducing congestion.
SRL has also enhanced its CCTV offer, with the introduction of the industry’s first portable CCTV to provide not only a 3600 panoramic view, but also a perspective of the 1800 beneath the camera, which it says allows users to achieve a superior level of surveillance, responsiveness and security.
The robust 360 Monitoring Portable CCTV features the latest embedded 2TB industrial grade solid state drive (SSD) and an Axis camera capable of generating clear images in total darkness.
Multiple units can be configured to create a single, scalable solution that can be conveniently viewed remotely via smartphone or PC on one system.
“The key to SRL’s success has always been to listen carefully to customers and to develop products that they tell us they need – not just what we think they need,” said SRL’s chief executive officer, Richard Tredwin. “Both the ADS detector and 360 Monitoring Portable CCTV have been created in response to customer demand, and as a result, we’re pleased to say that both are already generating strong interest from organisations striving to minimise congestion and improve site security.”
