INRIX delivers new report into passenger travel response to Covid
The report analysed vehicle miles traveled (VMT) to understand how the pandemic impacted movement and transportation in Europe.
Our research found that the timing and the degree to which each country went on lockdown in response to the virus, and then gradually restarted their economies resulted in a significant variation of impact to the road network.
For example, VMT dropped 88% in Spain, the largest reduction seen in any country, while Sweden’s VMT dropped 56% just a week earlier. The UK has followed a similar trajectory to Spain.
