Innovate UK draws attention National Express – SME accelerator programme
The transport operator National Express is looking for start-ups to join a ten week accelerator programme, consisting of onboarding workshops, one-to-ones with senior stakeholders, mentoring, networking opportunities with executives and access to a wide range of resources and knowledge from across the transport sector.
ITS (UK) Executive Member Innovate UK has drawn ITS (UK)’s attention to the programme, which involves collaboration with SMEs to test the feasibility of innovations within National Express, with a dedicated business sponsor helping prove the value.
At the end of or during 10 weeks period, the product is showcased to the National Express leadership team, with the goal of securing a contract of work to scale within National Express.
The company says it is looking for companies who want “transform the 300 million journeys taking place annually on our local bus and intercity coach networks within the UK. Scaling your innovation across the National Express Group is the ambition – a global business carrying over one billion passengers annually through bus, coach and contracted services based in North America, Ireland, United Kingdom, Spain, Morocco and Bahrain.”
Innovate UK calls this a great opportunity for many of the SMEs. For more details contact Karla Jakeman at Innovate UK.
