Tickets are now available for Cityx: The Future of Connected Places Business. From ITS (UK) Executive Member the Connected Places Catapult, Cityx is a two-day expo taking place at the Urban Innovation Centre in London between 13 – 14 November 2019.
The event brings together leading thinkers, city leaders, academics and businesses to explore today’s priority city challenges. The event aims to highlight how UK businesses are harnessing emerging technologies, to unlock radical new solutions needed to create sustainable, prosperous and connected places for everyone.
This year’s Cityx will focus on housing and mobility, combining an exhibition of the latest innovations with workshops, speaker’s corners, product demonstrations, advice clinics and networking activities. Participants will be able to map out a future vision for homes and the transport systems which connect them.
Day one will focus on housing and features presentations from Sophie White, General Manager Infrastructure & Complex Projects at Homes England; Alan Somerville, Executive Director – Head of Building Performance Group at BRE; and Design Scientist and Systems Theorist Melissa Sterry.
Day two will centre on mobility and features presentations from Rachel Skinner, UK Head of Transport and an Executive Director of WSP; Iain Macbeth, Former Head of Foresight, Transport for London (TfL); and Robert Ravelli, Director Contemporary Solutions International.
Connected Places Catapult will also host up to 16 businesses, in the heart of the Urban Innovation Centre in London, each selected for their relevance to the day’s theme and strength of their innovation.
Connected Places Catapult CEO Nicola Yates OBE said:
“As cities becomes ever busier, finite resources are being tested by very real environmental concerns. However, by embedding intelligent connection at every level of our urban environments we can make places that work holistically for the wellbeing of us all and the world we live in.
At Cityx we’ll address two key areas, housing and mobility, in which societal changes and innovation are reshaping norms and expectations – making this intelligent connection possible. Over the course of the two days participants will help point the way towards a future in these areas where community needs are met in a sustainable, socially responsible and truly connected way.”
