ILOG & INRIX Launch HELP System for 2-Way Emergency Communications

Over the past year and a half, the ILOG team has been supporting PennDOT, the PA Turnpike, and PEMA in their deployment of 511PAConnect, a two-way communications tool for getting in touch with drivers who are trapped in queues. The service has performed admirably in nearly 30 activations.

ILOG is excited to announce that we have partnered with ITS (UK) members INRIX to bring this service nation-wide. HELP (Highway Emergency Link Platform) Alerts are being offered as a turnkey service for agencies.

HELP enables transportation agencies to gain situational awareness of roadway emergencies, communicate vital information to drivers and incident response teams, and manage traffic flow. HELP is the only wireless emergency alerting service that establishes two-way communications between transportation agencies and drivers – allowing each to receive and share real-time information. Urgent safety information and updates can be sent by text messages and automated phone calls. No app is required.

The system integrates with FEMA’s IPAWS alerting system, and all maps are enhanced with INRIX Real-Time Traffic, queue monitoring and Dangerous Slowdown locations.
