Putting the User Back into Transport Innovation – Use Cases for Data

November 27, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

To date approaches to intelligent transport have mostly focused on a data-first approach, whereby existing data is examined to derive a new outcome. But what if we took another approach? An approach where instead we first identified new transport use cases then took a holistic view of how technology and data might help unlock their potential.

Data can offer some real opportunities to innovate, but data itself is not the innovation. The innovation is collecting the data we need and using it to deliver something new.

To ensure maximum value for future transport investments it is important solutions solve real user/environmental/local/business challenges.

Join techUK and ITS (UK) for a workshop where we will bring together the transport and technology industry to explore how we can better innovate for the future keeping user challenges at its core.

In identifying a series of use cases, we seek to kick start the process by which robust and viable business cases can be built.

The detailed agenda will be posted here shortly.  Confirmed Data Challenge providers include Highways England and the Campaign for Better Transport.

This event is open to techUK and ITS (UK) members. Spaces are limited and invite only however if you would like to attend please contact Manar Al-Muflahi.
