APT Skidata secures new Ticketless parking contract with CitiPark

APT Skidata, one of the world’s leading parking equipment manufacturers owned by ITS (UK) member SWARCO, has won a contract from CitiPark to install a new Ticketless, barrier-less parking solution at a recently-acquired location serving commuters from Rickmansworth Railway Station in Hertfordshire.

CitiPark, a leading car park operator, has managed the branch since 2016 and completed the purchase of the freehold in June last year. The car park has a capacity of 140 spaces and is located adjacent to the station, which with both underground and overground line access makes it a vital link for commuters travelling in and out of London.

APT Skidata will install its new Ticketless system that uses the latest Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology; it does not require a barrier. A single touch-screen pay station will be installed for credit and debit card payments. Payments will also be able to be made via the CitiPark mobile app and online, giving customers more flexibility. Season ticket options, ideal for commuters, will also be accommodated.

Customers are encouraged to complete payment before leaving the car park, but those who fail or forget to pay will be captured via APT Skidata’s INS software and a daily report of non-paying visitors will be sent to CitiPark for them to follow up. The car park will be patrolled and feature CCTV cameras, which are monitored 24/7 from CitiPark’s national control room in Leeds.
